While obviously you won't be able to keep the cards once the event ends, it's simple something to work towards and keep you occupied whether you decide to participate as a player or a spectator. If you aren't interested in the cards you in no way have to aim to collect them. We felt it would be a fun thing to do, looking back on past players and events through a physical in-game item.

We would not be opposed to releasing the corresponding png files following the end of the tournament, if that makes any difference?

I feel like that would give players who collected them an objective, maybe release the cards to those who collected all of them? There's no actual goal to work for that can impact anything outside of the server so that would be a good goal. Are there still going to be instruments in the servers?

How are instruments different than cards tho, u still lose them after the server's gone lol

you lose nothing, songs, phrases, and keybinds are all saved in your client, not to mention instruments are public

Unfortunately, offering you the png files post cup is really the best we can do. the only applicable use they would have once this is all over, would be if we continued to develop cups in the future, adding more cards to the pack on top of any cards you would have already obtained in game.

they're just collectibles and another thing for people to do on the server. it's more interesting for players that played at the time but really you didn't need to play slot machine with soccer balls in the server, it's just a fun little purposeless thing that gbfl always did and it made the server not boring asf

then dont bother with it. its free content, and last year didnt have it, so just pretend it doesnt exist if you feel its pointless....

this discussion would have merit if they didnt already decide to include it. but its already done and promised and it would be dumb to remove stuff already made for the server
