Author Topic: tornado system  (Read 1101 times)

basically works with that one thunderstorm mod gravity cat made

to start a tornado you say /startnado{efnumberhere}
if you say
/startnadoef1

it will start a small tornado that does a little damage to buildings

but if you say

/startnadoef5

it will start a MASSIVE tornado that will almost swallow every building up

now to add onto that
you can say

/startnado ef9

it will start a tornado that will basically swallow anything it see's
unless your already out of its distance

the debris at the bottom of the funnel
will use the water splash effect
just retextured and made to look like like its stuff being sucked in

also the way the tornados will work is like this

once the tornado has touched any brick it gets deleted
mostly to stop possible server crashes and to not be in a loop of destroying that one house that keeps getting reloaded in

if a tornado touches a item brick the item will swirl around in the tornado for a bit then get thrown at a player inaccuratley
but if it hits the player they get stunned kinda like that tumble event that happens when you hit a part of your body while using the ski vehicle oh yeah and the player that was hit takes some damage but gets the item once its on the ground
but if it hits a building/brick it gets destroyed with minimal damage

if a tornado touches a vehicle brick with a vehicle spawn it becomes lethal and as items the vehicle will swirl around in the tornado for abit then get thrown
at a player inaccuratley but if the vehicle hits them they just die but rarely they will just loose half of their health also once the vehicle hits the ground it explodes
to yknow not lag up the server
also if it hits a building/brick it gets destroyed by using the collision that comes with the vehicle which will mostly be medium damage

if the tornado picks up a player they basically still get stunned but if they get thrown out of the tornado they die

if the tornado gets in lava it morphs into a firenado which destroys anything a regular tornado can suck up and throw at people and kills players slowly if they get sucked in

(depending if you have environments affecting the tornado enabled in the glass prefs)

if the tornado gets in water it morphs into a waternado which kinda is the firenado but less damaging also if players get sucked in they will slowly drown if they dont get thrown out also vehicles and items get slowly thrown out of this nado

but you can recover the bricks by saying /revertnadodamage
which basically loads back any bricks/items/vehicles that were destroyed by the tornado

but if you really wanna risk your server just say /nadovehiclesinstayspawned
which basically leaves any vehicles that would normally explode when they hit the ground just take damage and stay on the ground

THE VARIATIONS IN EF'S
a ef1 will barely be able to suck in any items and vehciles and nimbly throw them at players items being the best the tornado can throw
and will kinda mostly go for players more and mostly going for bricks every now and then

a ef2 will be able to suck in vehicles and items but throw them at players a bit better then a ef1
this will mostly go for bricks and items but will go for players randomly

a ef3 will be the in the middle when it comes to suck in vehicles and items and will hurl then faster than any of the lesser tornados
this will go for both players and bricks

a ef4 will be the better man when it comes to damage more than casualties and will mostly be better at throwing cars at players but will sometimes throw items
at players this tornado will hurl vehicles at buildings more than players

a ef5 will be the middle man when it comes to damage it will go for anything that it can use to kill players mostly just sucking up items into one big burst
that is garentee'd to stun a player

a ef6 will be the almost there kinda tornado that will only use vehicles to kill players
but it will bundle up items to cause damage to buildings

a ef9 will basically bundle up vehicles into one big burst and hurl them at anything including players and it will bundle up items and throw them at both players and buildings

also the tornado will stop if all the bricks have been sucked up (this can be disabled in glass prefs)
but if the pref is disabled the tornado will stop randomly at any time (you can set a limit for it in glass prefs)

honestly storm chasing would be pretty neat

how do you change your profile picture :nes:

how do you change your profile picture :nes:
in your profile settings

this would be great for my half assed attempt at a disaster gamemode thing

This tornado idea sounds pretty cool, makes me want to learn how to model storm chasing vehicles

if you need concept images search up special storm chasing vehicles
and goto images
that where the REAL stuff is at

thats a big and demanding list

I'm not even sure some of these features you're suggesting are possible

thats a big and demanding list
exactly its a big boy mod
not for the faint of storage
