Grammar national socialists: How far would they take a grammatical error?

Author Topic: Grammar national socialists: How far would they take a grammatical error?  (Read 9057 times)

You're making the topic about the typo. I just want to talk about the topic.

So you derail the entire topic. And then you keep persisting until I answer your question.

You have absolutely zero interest in the discussion itself you only care about the typo.

And that's why I don't want to answer your question.
very bold of you to make so many assumptions tony

very bold of you to make so many assumptions tony

I'm sorry you're incapable to make a connection in your head that maybe nika could be nike.

So what's worse, making a typo or the inability to comprehend a typo?

i literally asked you if it was nika or nike and you told me essentially to forget off

im sorry you're incapable of answering a question, is this like some past trauma that's made you very confrontational?

i literally asked you if it was nika or nike

because the point of the topic for all intent and purposes is to talk about the nike controversy with that football player.

Not derail the entire discussion to point out an obvious accidental typo.

So I made a typo, so what? Does that mean you need to completely destroy the entire thread to prove a point?

you killed my entire thread to point out a typo and you wouldn't stop until I gave you the satisfaction to admit I accidentally typed nika.

Because you want to point and laugh and make a joke about how I said nika instead of nike so you killed my entire discussion.

And when I won't give you that satisfaction you keep asking about it when I tell you to drop it.

despite the typo nika is the word nike is based off of

but it isn't the name of the brand that everyone is familiar with, which prompted people to be confused and ask why the title is what it is. tony is just being melodramatic as usual

you have such a victim complex it's mind boggling

Well you did kill my thread over a typo.

And then you hold me verbally hostage when I refuse to answer your question 5 times.

WE'VE GOT A VERBAL HOSTAGE SEND IN THE LINGUIST

which prompted people to be confused and ask why the title is what it is.

A normal person sees a typo, they understand what the poster originally meant without having to hound them about the typo.

But the grammar national socialist sees a typo, they know what the original poster meant yet they use it as an excuse to harass the person about the grammatical mistake. While at the same time pretending they don't know what the original poster meant.

ask why the title is what it is.

But if you read the main post you could very easily make the connection in your head that I am talking about the brand Nike, not nika.

It requires common sense and reading comprehension I know but I'm sure you people are capable of that.

Why play dumb?

So maybe reading this title I understand the confusion.

Quote from: title
so what's the deal with nika lately?

But after reading the main post you now have context. So there is no reason to continue playing dumb about it.

Quote from: main post
Have you talked about this, have you heard about it?

What's the deal with nike lately? There is some controversy around nike or something?

I couldn't find anything about this in the news but it seems news worthy because everyone on social media is expressing their frustration with nike

The point is you know what I meant.

You're just playing dumb about it.

And I know you're playing dumb about it so why do I want to answer your question about it? I know you're baiting me about it.

tony, you can stop this shtick now. it's blatantly obvious that you misspelled nike on purpose just to rile everybody up. no amount of denying it can save you. you are not the victim. quit the charades.

it's blatantly obvious that you misspelled nike on purpose just to rile everybody up.

This is incorrect. I accidentally spelled out nika.

People getting riled up over a single letter is through their own volition

but you're telling me that it's "blatantly obvious I mispeleld nike" but it's not blatantly obvious that I meant to say nike not nika?

Anyone with common sense could figure out I meant to say nike, instead of nika. There was no need for postal to bait me 5 times.
