Are they?

No. It is the owner's fault if a pitbull ends up attacking others.

you brought up snakes as if snakes and pitbulls are the same, so I explained why they arent lmao
my point was that people own predatory species, considerably worse than a predatory breed, so why should we care about that aspect of it
listen dude 40% of all dogs that get euthanized are pitbulls. states ban pitbulls which means that anybody who has to move to those states has to give the dogs to shelters, which often end up mistreating the dog
what you want does nothing but make the problem worse, mr. loose cannon, and kills a stuffload of dogs for a pretty stupid reason

you have this logic yet there are absolutely countless maulings when the owner is a family member or babies the forget out of the dog, and is still aggressive

PitBulls were bred for fighting and bull-baiting, it's literally in their instincts. Exactly the reason retrievers retrieve, or herding dogs herd. Arguing otherwise is handicapped
they're not some other species though? they're still just normal old domesticated dogs. dogs are bred to have favorable genetics for a certain task but that doesn't mean they somehow inherit learned personalities/behaviors

Different dog breeds are bred to be you know, different

Retrievers are a breed which through generations, bred for retrieving (when they were work dogs), same for herding dogs, hunting dogs, pointers

Same thing with pitbulls, they were bred for the work of bull-baiting and fighting, which is why they tend to not show signs before attacking and tend to "snap", even when loving owners take care of them for years.

all dogs are a product of their upbringing and unfortunately a lot of cunts who had poor upbringings buy pitbulls and train them to be cunts

then explain the families who out-right spoil and love their pitbulls for multiple years, end up getting mauled

are we forgetting here that cats are miniature panthers which regularly murder things on a daily basis and scratch and maim their owners just because they pet them for too long or too hard or did not let them piss on the floor? they are literally tame if you raise them right. same thing with all domestic animals, saint bernards are buff as forget and are trained as rescue dogs. chihuahuas look like they would be born as dogs that would be used as a destressor but they're one of the most instinctually agressive dogs ever known
then explain the families who out-right spoil and love their pitbulls for multiple years, end up getting mauled
because unfamiliar and tiny children don't mix with spoiled and unsocialized dogs of any kind

Just for reference
This is what happens when you leave a gun to it's own devices
now, considering guns aren't alive, and pitbulls are, and that pitbulls have killer instincts, pitbulls can kill people without an owner, guns can't without and owner.

Honestly, it's not the pitbull's fault they are dangerous creatures, however just because the pitbull can't take fault doesn't mean that they should be allowed to be owned like a normal pet.
If anything, pitbulls should require a few more steps to get, if at all. Pitbulls aren't your average "borf borf" puppy, they're more or less living weapons, and without proper understanding and care, people will get hurt.

because unfamiliar and tiny children don't mix with spoiled and unsocialized dogs of any kind
so that makes it okay and justified for them to get mauled for literally no reason other than existing

are we forgetting here that cats are miniature panthers which regularly murder things on a daily basis
yes bugs and maybe rodents or if really lucky, birds, oh no!

scratch and maim their owners just because they pet them for too long or too hard or did not let them piss on the floor?
This doesn't happen unless if you have no idea what you're doing and literally never set out a litter box for them or get them fixed

also scratch <<<<< getting permanently disfigured or killed

they are literally tame if you raise them right. same thing with all domestic animals
yes but that doesn't make their instincts null and void and non-existant

pit bulls don't appear to be disproportionately more likely to attack (x)

don't appear

yet they do

i mean, this is a collection of sources and numbers which are a lot more meaningful than perception, stereotypical assumptions, anecdotal evidence, and intuition

a related problem would be the question of whether or not sharks are dangerous

i mean, this is a collection of sources and numbers which are a lot more meaningful than perception, stereotypical assumptions, anecdotal evidence, and intuition
if this is the case, then how come there isn't a large stereotype around labs attacking and mauling with reports of it happening once or more a week, or with poodles, pugs, etc?

then explain the families who out-right spoil and love their pitbulls for multiple years, end up getting mauled
dogs need to be socialized, if they're spoiled they aren't being socialized with children and other animals

you are literally talking out of your ass because of a bandwagon against pitbulls

people think getting a dog is as easy as buying it from some loving unhealthy puppymill when in reality it's a huge undertaking that many people neglect because of how easy it is to get access to a dog to keep, they need to be trained and socialized and the majority of people neglect this entirely

rather than stricter laws on pitbulls i think there should be stricter laws on the people who are able to get dogs and breed them in their loving trailer park
