most of the tiny amounts of money congress has delegated to nasa is mismanaged and wasted on paying employees doing nothing of value. there’s a reason the government funds private organizations instead of funding nasa

nasa is gold standard in terms of what it gives us per dollar
the hubble space telescope, the JWST, the space shuttles, the international space station, curiosity mars rover, and over 70 other different probes/satellites that NASA are maintaining/using right now.
your "nothing of value" is hundreds of different scientific accomplishments and uncountable investments into scientific research.
this list includes the hundreds of different earth science satellites that provide weather/atmosphere/geography mappings daily to many different industries.
