Now that we can pull back on the Sonic design criticism (for now) let's talk about why the trailer sucked hot richard other than that
1. The music
2. "Relatable" everyman police dudebro
3. "Save your planet" from what? Jim Carrey?
4. End credits scene as if this stuff will ever get a sequel. If Jim Carrey doesn't go full Eggman halfway into the film then this is gonna be hyper garbage

Yeah, but this is basically a Fast and the Furious movie in disguise, so I'm not surprised. I'll give a pass on some cheese given the context.

Generic "Save the World" Motivation.
Although I guess it Could be a reference to the Space Colony ARK from SA2, and maybe that's a plot line but I doubt it.

The dude went Half-Eggman in the trailer. All we need is him having some actually smart lines instead of Thesaurus Soup and maybe we'll actually be on our way to a decent Eggman.

We could also just say "forget this movie" and reboot Sonic SatAM  and give it a better name. Ditch the mohawk and don't let he who shall not be named, play Sonic.
