God you're so loving stupid, you literally just advocated for nationalization of these platforms but you're trying to stuff talk me with the anarchocapitalist strawman you've built in your head
They don't have to be public utilities to be held accountable for the abuse of power they display
The current problem is most of these sites skirt the law between publisher and platform and this allows them to do all kinds of forgetery
corporations lobby to change laws all the time, all it takes is that some kind of speech makes them no money to remove it from their platform. Which they are doing.
companies run to grow infinitely and make money, this is not in line with the good of the people or the health of public discourse. they can, have and will
never act for the consumer, or the worker.
And lol at the implication that these same companies don't already rule supreme by virtue of the same govt you would support nationalizing them
there is no public accountability in a corporation
there is no transparency in a corporation
there is no democratic process in a corporation
there is no consumer protections in a corporation(as long as they are allowed to lobby to change laws)
corporations are a monarchy under their CEO, infinitely worse than a running on a national platform.
