previous theory was that the universe was infinite in size and unbounded, aka flat universe

current news suggest that the universe is finite- not by a wall or a limit, but if you went far enough in one direction, you would end up looping back to wear you started. essentially, it's like travelling around a sphere in which you'd end up going around it back to where you started... except in 3d

neat/concerning, no?

it's like an integer overflow/underflow in position.

If the universe is closed and finite that's incredibly scary.

It means there is literally no escape.

its not like we were going to be able to escape anyways

its still expanding faster than the speed of light regardless

when are the oliens gonna come
they won't, we'll be the aliens to the other planets we go to inhabit, give or take many many many millenniums

i'm gonna pop the bubble just you watch

bitch......... where were you planning to escape to

so the devs didn't go the lazy invisible wall route?

sick.

whoaaa this is cool bc i actually believe the big crunch theory

so the devs didn't go the lazy invisible wall route?

sick.
i mean the previous theory meant that the devs were building the world faster than people can experience it, so i think they were doing a good job regardless

step outside the universe and you get a message on your screen that tells you you have 10 seconds to return to the playable area
