Author Topic: Stupid Bans, Kicks, and Mutes  (Read 735947 times)

Let me simplify it for you

1. You broke into their place and killed their people for seemingly no reason. When you continued to break into their place, they killed you for a reason.

2. RDM is "Random deathmatch". Kreon's server isn't a deathmatch server so instigating fights for no given reason beyond "I wanted to" will get you banned.

3. And also what I said earlier adds to it, the admins on the server really don't like you and given your history probably didn't have the patience to slap you on the wrists and let you continue messing with people.

1. I only killed capt meat. First time was when he shot at me for simply stepping foot into the facilities gates
2. I don't see how it was a "random deathmatch" when I killed the guy who previously rdmed someone else and rdmed me and my accomplice when we weren't even inside. It turned into a mission of payback.
3. Read above post

I'm not going to 'forgive' some random dude who decided to ignore all the rules and attack people for no reason.

It turned into a mission of payback.

Breaking both the NLR rule and the "No revenge kills" rule

The server has two rules regarding not coming back to the place where you died and getting revenge on your murderer. This is usually to prevent people like you from getting mad after being killed and coming back to exact revenge.

If CapTMeaT killed anyone else, it was because they were, too, trespassing. The Xfiber or Madmen group or whatever are a basically a shady corporation trying to protect secrets, and because of such there are various warnings outside of the tall walls you jumped over that trespassers will be shot.

Of course you people seem to conveniently ignore rules and then get upset when they're enforced.

From what I heard, he only got revenge once, and if that's a rule on the server, then seriously we should warn people about this bullstuff server.

I didn't know capt was multiple people.

Yeah, and even if you did kill multiple people, aren't there police to kill you and put you in jail or something? I mean, it would kinda make sense, instead of loving banning you.

The admins don't let you do whatever you want on their server. The point of the server isn't to be a deathmatch so we set up rules to prevent exactly that. If you have a problem with that, then that's just too bad I guess.

Newsflash: admins usually ban you if you break rules they set. The welcome message, spawning message and multiple other signs all tell you to read every single rule before you spawn in the city. Each rule is in plain sight when spawning. If you break them, you really have no excuse.

Also, if the police decide to kill others for no reason, then yes, they can get banned because that's freekilling.

That almost never actually happens since the police are hand-picked by the admins. But yeah, Kreon and Frankie frown on cops randomly murdering people.

So lemme get this story straight, Cavik, you saw CapTMeaT kill somebody on the Madmen campus, so you went to investigate and got shot by the same guy, so you got a C4 charge and came back and blew him up?

To explain the ban in full detail because I don't think I have, there's three rules that were broken there. Rule #1 being no random deathmatching. The point of the server, a " Community RP", is to be partly about citybuilding and the other half being character development and interaction. There are groups of people with complex stories such as the Madmen Corp. that help make the server have a bit more depth.

We don't like people killing each other too much because that's not what the server is about. We don't outright make killing players against the rules because that removes that element from the server. Instead, the admins opt to ban people who (seemingly) attack people for no reason.

Rule #2 is the "New life" rule, which dictates that if you die, you cannot come back to the spot you died. Since this a roleplay, and you're supposed to act out your role, it wouldn't make in-universe logical sense to know where you last 'died'. This is partly to keep the roleplay from being too confusing and partly to keep people who want to exact revenge from RDMing.

Rule #3 is the "No revenge killing" rule, in which we really, really want to discourage people from getting upset and keeping grudges against people outside of the roleplay. There have been a handful of people who were banned because they took the game too seriously, ruining other people's fun. If you didn't read the rules, it's understandable that it may seem bullstuff to be banned for as long as you were. I can talk to the admins about shortening your ban if you really wanted to play on the server.

1. Wasn't c4, was a sniper rifle from the top of madmen place
2. Looks like capt broke the rdm rule
3.

4.

you realize captmeat came back to where he died and killed me rite, multiple, times.

From what it looks like his spawn point was inside of the madmen building and his character's job was to be the campus security guard. Unless he actively hunted you down and kill you rather than you engaging him, it wouldn't have been considered revenge and NLR.

It's the same reason why a cop getting killed right outside of the police station doesn't get banned when he respawns and kills whoever was trying to attack him outside. There's a point where the rule stops being enforced against people acting in self defense.

I actually explored the place for a good 2 minutes then went up a staircase to a door that said armory and peeked into the window, then I turned around and as soon as I saw him he killed me, no warning, no hey get out of here etc, like apparently you're saying should have happened. I don't see how you can still be defending the ban/actions that were taken.

Was every instance of you being killed by CapTMeaT inside of Madmen's campus?

No.
