Author Topic: How the forget do I cook rice  (Read 8901 times)

Why is every website so different on how to cook it.

“Oh you need eggs and a pan.”
“Oh you need a microwave and a plastic pot.”
“You need butter and an air fryer”
“You boil it for 45 loving minutes”

How. Do. I. Just. Make. It. Edible.

try some college cooking blog for simple meals

just scour the internet til you find a recipe you can do and try it

or you could eat it raw.

I’ll make my own recipe, I just want to know:

How do i make the hard raw rice into soft cooked rice. Nothing else.

Literally just boil it for ??? minutes, I don't remember how many but it's like barely 20 or something.

Is there any faster way? I can’t be forgeted to make food that takes half an hour to prepare

for basic white rice, simple recipe

1:2 ratio

1 part rice : 2 part water

ie, 1 cup of rice, 2 cups of water

first boil the water on the stove, add some salt to the water, add the rice to the water, stir, reduce heat to low-medium and cover with a lid

occasionally stir and wait until all of the water evaporated, you can literally even leave it and forget about it too until its done

you'll get fluffy white rice in about 10 - 20 minutes

this is exactly what i do and it works wonders

and it does

especially when it doesnt require draining the water afterwards

Damn it really takes that long

Damn it really takes that long

the only other option for really fast rice is microwavable rice packs, throw in them microwave for a few minutes and done

Damn it really takes that long
full heat with the lid off works too and cooks the rice in like 8-10 minutes but isnt anywhere near as good

Man. This changes the game a bit. Noodles only take like 7 min to make and come out the way I want them. Why does rice still exist

buy a rice cooker at walmart for $20

How much does that expedite the process?
