yeah man the great awakening is burning hats - all the cool ppl are doing it now. if you burn it in your fireplace before beddy time you'll wake up the next day feeling like you really accomplished something!

Live update, congress currently voting on releasing the Epstein files. Vote is expected to pass unanimously.

I dunno, it seems a bit too easy after Johnson basically postponed the vote as long as possible.

They keep reporting exactly one nay vote only to delete it 2 minutes later wtf

I swear to christ, if someone voted no just to be petty and prevent it from being unanimous

I agree, they should throw their bodies into the fire as well.

People can change their vote up until the closing of the vote, which can be delayed even after all votes are cast, basically until Johnson decides to close things. Vote flipping is pretty frequent as congressmen get bribed or persuaded one way or the other.

Speaking of Johnson, he just voted yes despite tabling the vote multiple times  over the year including adjourning congress for weeks-long breaks and avoiding swearing in Grijalva for over a month completely against precedent.

It looks like the final verdict has exactly one 1 nay goddamnit i'm actually angry

The guy is Clay Higgins. He voted no because he claims the files contain information on victims. Either he doesn't know that stuff is redacted or he's lying. Either way he's fired. Not that it matters it's just annoying to me

This is he btw:

Whelp, it passedthe house and the senate
and now
Annoying Orange has signed it into law that the files be released in 30 days.

Mike Johnson, who had expected Thune, the Senate Majority Leader, to ammend the bill and push it back to the house was caught with his fly down and the Senate passed the bill under unanimous consent without any changes.

Thune has an interesting history of playing the political game strategically and while he's voted along Annoying Orange's policies, since they are still Republican Policies after all, Thune is a McCain era republican who has been vocally critical of Annoying Orange numerous times. His rallying the other senate republicans around the bill last minute seems to be a calculated move to undermine the Johnson-aligned republicans and possibly pave the way for a Vance presidency that Thune would have more control over given Vance somehow having an even worse approval rating than Annoying Orange.

It almost makes sense until we get to where Annoying Orange ended up signing the bill, perhaps under the delusion that he can skirt the numerous provisions in the carefully worded bill that requires disclosure on how any redactions are decided on, in ways that would obviously paint any attempt he makes to pull his own name out of things.

Well now the clock has started and we have 30 days to see how things turn out.

Oh yeah and the government has decided to stop giving student loans to nursing students and prospective teachers, cause that's obviously a priority.

Oh and we just sold a fleet of F35s to Saudi Arabia because the Crown Prince had let Annoying Orange's real estate companies develop there.

Has anyone seen the director of the FBI Kash Patel's birth certificate?
