Author Topic: The new NEW and improved 3D model topic!!  (Read 585 times)

I wanted to share some retro/low poly stuff I've made since I began learning blender 5.0. Sadly, the other thread is too old to post in at this point.

(this texture was generously done by a friend of mine)

back a few months ago i signed up for a online beginners course in 3d animation where i would spend up most of the time learning how to even model something in the first place (the teacher barely knew either, since they were mostly experienced in the animation side of things), with the end result being this:

i could've done most things much better (the rigging, the texturing, etc etc), but in the end i was pretty happy with what i got for my *second* model, and at the end of the course i somehow managed to get the highest score :D

the dino models are cool, I like 'em!

I haven't really worked on any models as of late, but the most recent thing I did was for my haunted mansion server back in late september/october

but does it animate it too? that's arguably the most important part of 3D modeling...

I do miss modeling but hard to find the time these days

nice to have a new new topic for this stuff tho

Oh, I'm so glad someone revived this thread, I finally have 3D models to share that aren't just Lego Star Wars builds I added into Blockland (following Lego instructions doesn't count as "modeling" in my head lol)

This is an un-textured Sopwith Camel, a WWI era British biplane, that I just finished modeling this afternoon. It came up by accident in the BLU discord, then later my co-worker (she is obsessed with aviation) brought up the Camel in conversation and something just clicked and I think I might be into planes a little now? Like new autism hyper-fixation unlocked at 33 lol.

I'm considering modeling a bunch of brick-built versions of planes to mod into Blockland.

This is a little guy for a Harvest Moon 64 inspired project, haven't decided if I want to render the whole thing in 3D or do a billboard 2D sprite like the N64. Also un-textured for the moment.

Lastly is a 3D rendering of the Endeavour character Menen. This one is textured, I wanted a PS1, low-poly low-rez look for this model.
