Author Topic: How hard was it to make Blockland?  (Read 2059 times)

Hey guys. RyanThunder here.

Knowing that this game was built with the Torque engine, it left me curious as to hard it was to make/code Blockland itself. More specifically (after looking at Garage Games' website), which version of the Torque Builder software was used to create the game?

I'd assume it was quite challenging to do.

You don't need to say 'Ryan Thunder here." We know who you are.

We know who you are.
And we know where you live.

It was REALLY hard to make Blockland.

Badspot had to make the Add-On system, items, vehicles, maps, and a HELL lot more stuff.

You could say he did just about a huge stuffload of work. He isn't doing this for fun, either.

I bet it was, but which version of the Torque Editor software did he use?

I'm not sure which one, but I'm sure it was/is a older version. (1.3? or something around that?)

I didn't necessarily mean the version number; I meant which version of the software he used

Here are all the different versions they have:

http://www.garagegames.com/solutions/experienced/

Out of those different packages, which one did he use?

if out of those ones, most likely bottom one on second link.

Otherwise, i have no clue what im talking about.

Yah, he works there. Probably gets to play around with all the versions, so he probably doesn't have the best one, but the one that's the best and cheapest for blockland.

"Torque Game Engine 3D Game Engine"

duh

He used the TGE 1.3 (As far as I know) but TGE is p to 1.5.2 now, also you cannot speak for Badspot (I do it allot, but I have experience at least),
He isn't doing this for fun, either.
I wouldn't say that, he saw a profit in it yes but if he didn't like doing this stuff then why the hell did he make a game? I mean I love working on games/mods with passion, if I didn't I wouldn't be here.

pretty bloody hard and Ryan is my name....thief....lol, jk

I am sure the retail version of Blockland is made in Torque v1.3 w/ v1.4 elements.
