Author Topic: Putting Blockland on a Flash Drive?  (Read 1822 times)

Okay, so can you put Blockland on a flash drive and still run it? Has anyone tried? I was thinking of getting a flash drive to put some games and a few programs on it.

probably would work.

USB flash drives can work as RAM so it shouldn't have a problem with Blockland, however you'll have to re-enter the key every time you use it on a different computer.

I have played countless hours of blockland on a flash drive, it works great, the reason I don't play it on a flash drive anymore is because it can become a hassle to find it and plug it in whenever you want to play.  I still have blockland on my flash drive, if I ever want to play it somewhere else, it does require retyping the key though.

Vista only as far as I know, but when you put the flash drive in it brings up the "Auto" menu then you choose "ReadyBoost" I believe, then you can choose how much is going to RAM.

yes i had to recently switch to vista because sli wouldnt work on my new cards without it :(
at least this is usefull

didnt work for me :( something about not compatable

Yes it works.

Yeah it works, had to do it when I got my new computer instead of connecting them together (old comp was on its last leg). It just might ask you to re-input the ID when you play it off the flashdrive.

I has a Vista Ready Boost combinable Flash drive =3 It was some what designed for it.

Make sure you put your code somewhere in your Blockland folder, not right out in the open, in case of losing the flash drive. The reason to keep your code on it is because when you use more than one computer, it resets the key status on the Blockland folder, thus, needing to put in your key again.

The problem with Vista's ready boost is that it does not speed up your computer by a noticeable amount, mostly because the read/write speed of flash drives is not amazing and the limits of USB 2.0. Although with USB 3.0, this might actually be worth it because its estimated transfer speed of 4.8 GB/s (Gigabits, not gigabytes, data transfer speed is measured in bytes/second)

how about a autoIT script, open blockland in dedicated mode, entering the key in the console and closing the dedicated again.
That would be comfortable :)
