Author Topic: Railway/guid/track brick thingies.  (Read 1062 times)

It is an idea I have had sence back in rtb. Why not have bricks that are shaped to hold vehicles and that let the vehicles move in one direction on/in them. Have a special vehicle to match the shape of the thing and a brick shaped to spawn the vehicle and be connected with the track. With this, one could have a roller coaster or a monorail or train or all sorts of stuff. Anyone consider doing something like this?

It's a cool idea, but the thing is that how are people going to get the vehicles in the tracks? Vehicle spawn bricks could hinder that.

i dont knwo but could you put it under the tracks or make another spawn brick?

Or have someone create special track bricks that have a whole new model. Like rollercoaster tycoon.

lol this would be fun for like an rpg starter if you could have the car stop at the spawn for a little and make the tracks soon reconnect so it would just loop.

Thats kinda exactly what I said.

Vehicle/Brick collision isn't robust enough to allow for this sort of thing to work flawlessly. You'd get vehicles careering into the walls on corners and so on.

possibly on the hub points, make it jut out jsut a bit mroe, then make it like this
    |^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^|
]--| (this is the vehicle)       |---[
    | __________________|

and then on each end of the [ there could be a wheel, and the track would "feed through" the 2 wheels.

0--}^^^^^^|
----(vehicle    |
0--}_______|

0=wheel
--- is the track

--} is the hub point where is holds the wheel
this whole thing might turn out as spam if my letters dont come out the way i typed

Well if you have the turns gradual and the car itself shaped to handle them.
