Ridiculous Loads

So has anyone else noticed the ridiculous load times recently, i mean of course theres a bunch of add-ons but you'll be amazed what some people have checked off for their servers.

I find i'm spending about 2 to 6 minutes loading for just one server these days.

Anyways just thought it would be something interesting to discuss.

I think people need to start only enabling add-ons they are using at the time.

Loads seem to be getting much longer, as people have add-ons/add-ons/Sniff's_BarretM38/shapes/ and directories as such.

Perhaps there could be server info showing the file size of all of their add-ons put together?

This is mainly due to all the wrongly instaled add ons.
On this one server there was firiking 3 Add-Ons files like:
Add-Ons/Add-ons/Shapes/Add-ons/
How can some one instal it that bad?

It'd help if you just accept that this crap is going to happen and not complain about it. It's fixed in V9 so just look forward to that. On the other hand you could go to everyone's servers and swear at them profusely until they understand how to extract a zip correctly. Your choice.

yeah i have been getting alot of long loads lately, my advice is once you get on the server just wait for allittle, if you have been sitting there for a couple minutes and the loading is getting no where      just forget the server and go to another one

This is why I have to always retype my welcome message to "Welcome! Please do NOT WHINE ABOUT THE DAMN LOAD, HOW LONG IT TAKES OR ASK HOW MANY ADD-ONS I HAVE. Have fun!"

If you'd all just STFU and wait for loving 5 minutes then you'll be in the game playing. Read a book or get a drink of water instead of bashing your damn head at the keyboard because you can't play your precious game any sooner.

This is also due to the number of unneeded add-ons turned on.   If your going host a building server, turn off all your weapons, and only keep any vehicles you actually might want to use.  When doing so, loading time can take literally seconds.

One good way to discourage it is don't join servers that have incorrectly installed add-ons. Although of course that won't work since many would still join.

I would have to say, clean your add-ons folder, if you find that you have seperate folders for the same thing, delete them. Or sort them into their correct spots.

When i join a server with bad installed add ons, i point it out, kindly (sometimes :3) and leave :D
