I dont think they have to remake them,
they will have to put them into archives (zip) maybe with a certain extension.
And then you have to download it again.
You could also put a addon into an archive yourself, I guess.
No, it's not that easy. There is a specific way in which Add-Ons must be packaged to be recognized by the system. It's not to the point where you would have to rewrite the entire Add-On, but it will not be a quick, 5-minute thing either.
I heartily suggest that Add-On makers perform a code review on all their stuff before releasing it for v9. There are plenty of ways Add-Ons can be improved, and plenty more in which they can be integrated with the event system. I think we will all benefit when Add-On makers exercise caution and creativity when producing content.
