Free mmorpg's

Author Topic: Free mmorpg's  (Read 6316 times)

I'm essentially looking for one myself that doesn't suck. And I don't want Runescape or Maple story on the list. They are widely known.

I was thinking of endless online but it seems a little too "cutesy" to me. (see maplestory)

Oh, and also, if it is a rpg where you download a client, something lightweight (under 1gb) is nice. (Endless online is like 14 megs, of course others can be around ~750 megs)

List & Discuss.

The problem with those sites is that some of the rpg's on the list have little or no provided details. I was hoping for someone with experience of one to post about it.

What I usually do is first look at the features of the game and then some screenshots and/or videos.
I don't usually trust people with opinions about games because it is really nothing more than the person personal opinion. Just because they don't like it doesn't mean you won't.

Judging by some videos, Pirates of the Caribbean online doesn't look half bad.

This one is pretty fun.
If you get it, add me to your friends list.
My name on that game is the same as on Blockland.

@Vertzer

It is. It's really buggy, the animations all suck, and it crashes alot.(at least for me)
My little brother DLed it and i decided to try it out, and it was al of the above^, plus more...

I agree, some people's opinions can be like asking a Wii fanboy about SSBB. However, I think some of the people on these forums can actually handle a constructive criticism of their own game.

The image of me playing Pirates of the Caribbean online doesn't seem to work for me.

How much space does it take up? Im a bit leery about rpg's with Anime-based graphics, but I try to put it aside.

not too bad. plus, it runs smoothly, and quickly, but the first time you ever run it, its a little bit slow, as is with other programs.

Voyage Century Online (Oh god pirates)

Dungeon Runners (Infected Cardboard Bastard Sword of the Unrelenting Yeti)

Sword of the New World  (really really large files)

Conquer Online (lol)

Well the worst computer I have is a base dell laptop, the "Inspiron B130." So I don't think 3d rpg's with graphics too much over runescape would do that well.

Voyage Century online is point and click. Just warning you.

All of my friends play Conquer online and are trying to get me into it. I've tried it and I gotta say you will have a really tough time unless your friend is one of the best on the server and he can power level you and such.
It's not exactly noob friendly. Also, those with cash coming out of their arse can be the best in under a month, so that kind of unbalances the game.

I can somewhat mind point-and-click games, as half of mmo's tend to be.

I do want something noob-friendly though, in terms of gameplay. (the community I could care less about.)

Runescape's whole engine runs off of Java, and there's not much you can do to get any graphics better than Runescape's with it.
That's why Tourque, although expensive, is worth it. you can create games like Blockland.  :cookieMonster:

But if you have a group of four in a vent server in a BF then you can have some fun with it.

Powerleveling is for people unlike me.  I was an archer and my friend who had power leveled me to about 40 was wondering how exactly I got to 72 in under a week.  I was getting levels fast enough he was worried I would beat him to 90 or whatever he was going for.  The game is plenty noob friendly up until a level 90 rb archer enters the mine that you're in and kills everyone in about half a second.  Except the afking guy who is even more powerful, who dies on the second shot from the bow.
