Random troll has left the battle!

Reactor, your children please.

I like macs myself. If I could run all my applications on a mac, I'd switch in a heartbeat.
Amen to this.

macs totally dominate ok so last year i compared 2 computers. a dell precision desktop and a mac pro with the same ghz of processing 4 GB of memory and 2 optical drives the mac pro was a lot cheaper like 1k cheaper does that tell u anything?

so you compared price?
What about performance?

forget off. I prefer Mac myself for everything except games(most don't work is the reason obviously), but you're a loving handicap. You bump a three month old topic to start stuff.

A Mac Pro is the cheapest server hardware I could find. Seriously, similarly powered systems from Dell, HP, IBM, etc. were significantly more expensive than the Mac Pro.

My Mac Pro came in yesterday. Going to set up a dedicated clan server on it in the next week. It has two quad-core server processors, 10GB RAM, and will be run off a connection that will have a lot of bandwidth available. Mac makes cheap(relative) server hardware compared to every Windows based manufacturer, and it can run Windows server if needed. One half the computer will be running Windows, the other half shall be running Mac with Blockland. The Windows half will be running the software I actually got the server for and I don't want conflict between that and Blockland.

Mac Pros are very powerful systems. I've been running mine for a few days now. I have two virtual machines running windows(because I can) with one of them playing TF2 and the other with Japanese Windows(my brother set it up to play games that only work on JP Windows), screen sharing with a MacBook Pro, and running various stuff on the Pro itself.

Indeed there is a mac that also had 8gigs of ram, and also has a quad 4.2ghz. i can compare to my own computer.
yet how come it costs nearly 3k more for my computer then the mac one?

clearly there are LOTS more to computers then the few parts you think you understand

Server is nice, but in comparison fro an avarge computer, dell beats apples, and HP kicks both their ass.

I've noticed this too. My computer cost twice on apple.

Really, if your getting a computer, build it. don't waste your money.
