Author Topic: ohnoes, display settings borked!  (Read 2704 times)

Halp, my display settings are borked. It only lets me do 640x480 with 4bit color!

What I do?

I played Wing Commander Prophecy, then the comp crashed and it happened!

It happened to me once on second life so I plugged the computer out

[sarcasm]Gee, that helps a lot![/sarcasm]

Who says that?

turn it off and back on again?

sounds like your nvidia/ati drivers are being completely ignored lol.

dont install new, uninstall old ones first, or dl a driver cleaner for it

my screen will do normal sizes without drivers

my monitor wont do half the resolutions without the video card drivers.

Because your monitor is, uh, 6000 x 9000?

That's HORRIBLE PROPORTIONS! 2:3?! lolol

Guessing he has widescreen

I would guess like 2000 x 1125

EDIT: I halved the values again since I then imagined what a 4000 x 2250 screen would be like. Too ridiculous.

Cmon, his monitor is tall, who wouldn't want a tall monitor?

This happened to me when I alt tabbed out of a really old game that ran on different display settings, I had to start it in safe mode and change the settings there. (I think)

some full screen games refuse to JUST set a resolution for the game itself, it forces the entire computers desktop to change to it also.
if you caused it to crash, just forced closed, or whatever; it didn't change itself back.

i played a game once that wouldn't let me use up to my 1920x1200, just a max of 1440x900.
yet the desktop changed itself down to 800x600 during this time. i will never understand it
