Author Topic: Mac Modelers, Rejoice!  (Read 4700 times)

We finally have a good program! It's also available for Windows and Linux. Houdini! I'm going to buy it, for sure. Then I can actually work on my Torque game, and make add-ons!

Looks complicated.
Does Milkshape not work on the Mac?

Nothing works on a Mac, stop asking.

;)

Mac Modelers? There is none.

$99?

jeez, thats more expensive then the TGE engine and milkshape put together
and you get the showtool free with tge..

I don't believe you can model in showtool, its for animating/touchups/other model related things I am unaware of.

Also its just TGE(torque gaming engine) not TGE engine(torque gaming engine engine), and I believe TGE 1.5 is $150, and TGE 1.4 is $100. So its cheaper than TGE 1.5/1.4 and milkshape put together.

Lies, all of 'em.

Right, except I don't think you can buy 1.4. Checking... yeah, you can only get 1.5 for $150.

I checked this out earlier, I don't know how it looks now. I know that if you have a friend with milkshape they can port your anim8tor model to .dts some way.

Thats not for Mac.

You also have to take in to consideration that Maya is for the Macintosh also and has been ported a long while ago...

Along with a few other good modeling programs. Anim8or looks... ghey.

Tails: Ok... still doesn't mean anything, I put a $ for a reason...

The DTS exporter included with that version of Houdini is only included with the Windows version of the program.

Mac OS fails again. :cookieMonster:

Mac OS fails wins again. :cookieMonster:

Just saw that on GarageGames. Checking if they're working on it right now.

Edit: See, here's the quote from an admin on GG:

Houdini is out on the Mac, but the DTS exporter has not been ported to it yet.
Notice he said yet. I asked if they're working on the exporter (to make sure).

Mac makes lovey hardware, but their OS is quite the suck.

We're working on it; it just depends on a couple of things. The exporter source should be cross-platform, but we need to make sure and test it thoroughly.

Actually, Apple makes lovey hardware and their OS is quite the epic win. You haven't used it much, have you?
