Try Insurgency. It's pretty demanding compared to HL2, but it's no Crysis.

Pirates, Vikings, and Knights II is pretty fun, and only requires source SDK.(doesn't even need HL2)

I was thinking of getting several mods for HL2, but I first need a computer that can run it.

Well, if he splits it, they both get HL, or Captain gets the Life (x2) and Dread gets the Half.

Actually, we would each get a copy of One-Fourth Life 2.
