Could anyone make like where you never have to restart a server for to enable or disable a addon like make it part of igso.By the way i have Igso

what the heck is a igso?

Not having to restart a server to enable/disable add-ons would require immense engine changes(for any add-ons that have datablocks) which I doubt will happen.


Umm.... just have it exec the thing... not too hard. The problem is that there would be no way to do this if the new addon had some shape file that was not previously loaded.

Executing in-game is very laggy.

I think he means something like IGSO, that allows hosts to enable/disable add-ons in-game. It is already possible to enable them in-game by exec'ing them, but in order to disable them in-game, they would have to be packaged, and then disable the package in-game to disable it, and manually delete the datablocks.

After a second thought, though, the Torque engine generally requires a game restart to get rid of any exec'd script, while Blockland only requires a server restart. The system that allows this could possibly be implemented to allow changes without restarting the server. Just a thought.

Its possible to do without restarting a server, everyone just has to come back in order for it to happen, ultimately making it pointless.
