I think 2.0 isn't supported in Direct X anymore or something.

its your graphics card.

your directx supports shader 2.0, but your card does not. get a new graphics card.

cant get it upgraded

it says i need to upgrade the chipset so i just get new ones or install something

do you have a separate graphics card or integrated? (Is the monitor cable plugged in on the plate with your printer port and mouse and such (integrated) or is it plugged into an small plate below it (separate)?)

that's probably why, because most graphics cards (atleast geforce) That's +7xxx Supports it.
