Author Topic: BECAREFUL WHEN INSTALLING!!!!!!  (Read 3590 times)

Sometimes when you are downloading a addon or map etc. there are virus on the file so i suggest you scan for viruses before you extract then. It has happened to me before and was very very hard to get them of my computer.

If you already have a auto virus scanner don't post its only for people who don't have an auto scanner

Stop making crappy topics

If you don't have a virus program that scans every file/folder when you open it (liek mine, avast) you shud die

If you got the map or addon from this forum, its not likely it will be dangerous anyway.
As many people would be spamming that post about it, and badspot would ban and lock st00f.

Haven't had an virus program for about 2 to 3 years now and I'm still virus free.
I don't know what the hell you guys do in your spare time.

I have never gotten a virus from this site

How do you know if u have a virus if u don't have a virus program? :P

Your computer may be infected with a virus that infects files you download. Virus scanners do not and can not detect every virus. Just because the virus scanner 'removes' it doesn't mean it's necessarily gone, as well. Additionally, your scanner may be giving a 'false positive'. This means that it's reading a file as a virus when it actually is not one, and is perfectly fine.

As a note, I personally do not use any form of live-scanning virus scanner, and I have remained virus/trojan/malware/adware (not including tracking cookies)/etc-free for over seven years (exception to intentional infections on virtual machines).

As far as my knowledge goes, there are no viruses/trojans posted on the Blockland forums. If there are any, report them to Badspot immediately. That stuff does not belong here.

Using tools that can show you processes and the threads/strings being used by them, observing program behavior, monitoring inbound/outbound bandwidth to and from your machine, and checking your startup list usually.

I didn't get a virus, however you get a virus if you crack your system.

Mainly viruses come from downloading inappropriate stuff or warez. Also avoid suspicious files.
