Now we’ve got the formalities sorted lets get cracking.
Chapter 1. General help for new players/PlacesControls: press (ctrl) (o) and select controls. You can also edit these here, but it is unrecommeded.
Starting off:

Firstly you will want to do dungeons 1 and 2. There is no map available for inside these, and you have to use your own common sense. If you are doing with a friend, then the tactic is to go in one at a time and the first person opens the door on the other side of the room once they kill the monster, otherwise going in at the same time can hurt you a lot more.
About layout of dungeons (only applies to dungeon 1 and 2):

"Just a little note about the dungeons, the tunnels, and the forest: They switch around every time the server is re-hosted. They are not static interiors, each time the game is re-hosted, the game assigns "cells" to a random spot and does a check to make sure all the doors are alligned, so you don't get stuck with an impassible maze.
In other words, no two dungeons, forests, or tunnels are alike. So that little section that says please wait until maps for tunnels and forest are incorrect, as they will never be available. However, if you want to find the enterance to D1 easily, hop on top of the forest using the hook or a horse and drop down the hole towards the middle. It should drop you on top of the enterance to dungeon 1, and if not, at least near it."

To get into dungeon one and two you need to use a shield when you enter and fall down a drop (or go with friend with shield), so make sure you buy a 300gp one in the shop. It is possible to survive this drop by using a horse too. Also get used to using magic, as at the moment you can’t have weapons, you're too poor and useless. Press V to view the actions menu. Pressing S once you have already press V opens up spells menu. Press the letters for those spells and test them out. Fireballs are most powerful and Balls are most useful for fighting long battles.
Dungeon 1 is located in the woods. Leave port town through the "front" and head toward the bird cages, then turn 90 degrees left and follow this path to the tavern. The woods are next door. It takes lots of searching in the woods to find dungeon 1. Look out for a green light and mist (mist is also at the entrance to the woods). The woods also has a more useful back entrance. You will probably get lost in these woods, but don’t give up. Make sure you look for gaps in the trees. This dungeon is either 6 or 8 squares long, excluding dead ends
Reward: a hook
Dungeon 2 is much simpler to find, climb the mountain behind the tavern and turn right and keep walking across the top of this mountain for a very short bit and look for a red and blue light coming out of the ground. Use the map to help. This dungeon is 12 or 16 squares long, excluding dead ends.
Reward: 5000gp
Chartes Labyrinth: A very simple thing to do for 2.5k, but takes ages to get to. Use the map to find it. Its very far NE of port
Reward: 2500gp
Treehouse: climb this with your hook and get to the treehouse at the top. It’s very hard at first, but the tactic is to use third person view, aim up slightly, and swing towards the right hand side up the tree. Use spacebar at the start to jump, then shoot at the tree and sway left and right like a pendulum.
Reward: buy a magic crossbow for 4,000gp inside treehouse. It is best long range weapon in game.
Log Challenge:A long way away is the hardest challenge in the game. It is SE/Eastish of Port town. Tactics to get to the top of this are below.
Reward: Gold hook
The tunnels:A very hard way to get 2.5k, unless you know the general rule, when it’s simple. The 2.5k in the tunnels is always buried under the location of the dungeon 1 entrance (in a room where entrance has circular walls), so search for the nearest ladder down into the tunnels once you find the dungeon 1 location (look for a wide half log on its side on the floor, it should be next to a tree that looks like you can climb up. walk around the small gap around the side of this tree (right hand side) and use light spell to find the hole in the back of it). TOP TIP: always remember where level 1 is in relation to where you are/are facing.
Reward: 2500gp (+ secret $200 bill (just 200gp))

A tip for the tunnels gold is to wall glitch and lounge (/lounge or hit V then A then L keys) into walls, when you're close enough you can see where the gold is.Â

Clothes:Available in shop. Buying them (use first person view and aim at and press e) will put it in your inventory, and a new one will appear with a different texture replacing the other. It can be hard to get the types you want, which is why people use dyes (talked about later).
Crossbows:Obviously some are better than others, and it’s easy to tell which are better than others. Rusty bolts and standard bolts are hardly any different from each other, so it’s a good idea just to buy rusty. Explosive are only for people with enough money to afford about 300 of them, otherwise you will run out of ammo
don’t just use explosive bolts if attacking other people, unless you are close enough. You can snipe or shoot from long distances with rusty bolts (don’t use standard there’s no difference and they cost more) unlike explosives which don’t reach them and give away your location.Swords:Best used in the arena, as they are hard to use anywhere else. All swords do same damage so don’t buy gold unless you want to be entrepreneur in'.
Shields:As with swords, it doesn’t matter which one you use, it helps the same amount. Use it while falling to minimise damage when you hit the floor.
Throwing knives:50gp a piece and reusable means they are a good weapon for new players.
Instahorses:When a mummy box and a daddy horse love each other very much...
Use these in the wilderness for your very own horse. Other players can and will steal/kill them so never stray too far from your horse. You can dye them too.
Blue vial/Blue potion:Heal. Potion heals 100% vial heals 33%
Dyes:Select these and combine with another item to dye the item a colour. Currently does not work on weapons (except throwing knives). Get them by destroying crates, there is a chance you will get a dye.

Aim directly up and jump to shoot it in the port town shop, swing then shoot at roof again while at height of swing. If done correctly you should gain height. This is basic principle of using hook. Hook is one of the funnest but hardest to use items in the game, and when you master it you just can't stop using it. Training routine is below with log challenge guide. Press c to release hook, or wait 15 seconds when stops.

What is so good about gold hook? The Gold hook has a shiny yellow glow when attached onto things, goes further than reg. hook, is faster at moving than reg. hook, and lasts longer when attached to something than reg hook (gold hook lasts 60 secs, reg. lasts 15).

Chapter 3: Cops and Robbers.To become a cop you need to play the game for 2 hours in total on the account you want to be cop, then go to police station and talk to marshal. You must not have been in jail for 1min30 before, or ever had more than 150 demerits.
To become a criminal you don’t need to do anything, you have the freedom to do whatever you want, if prepared to face the jail time and social penalties.
CRIMINALS: make sure you are never naked in jail.
It’s a good idea to check your demerits as often as possible.
Everyone has their own opinions about cops or criminals.
The best attitude to take towards this is:
If cop:-don’t arrest people unless you are near port town; especially if they are doing something that involves no crimes (e.g. don’t arrest ANYONE at log challenge EVER)
-you
shouldn’t arrest people unless they are committing crimes that harm others (e.g. borrowing a horse they had permission to take)
-don't arrest friends (I once spent 1 hour helping someone at log challenge, then they literally arrested me once they had finished! I was so annoyed you wouldn't believe it)
-it’s best not to arrest people for the sheer thrill of it.
-beating people with batons in jail is a harsh, childish thing to do.
If criminal:-being a "criminal" does not mean you kill all horses, spam swear in caps or anything else just to get demerits, that’s just being stupid and selfish. It’s just about having the freedom to attack enemies etc.
-don’t have a huge fit at anyone who arrests you unless they broke one "rules" above, or you have good reason to. Making accounts saying you hate them is a waste of time.
-If in jail, leave your keyboard and get a drink or something, it makes the sentence much less harsh if you are on "parole" in the real world.
-remember that whatever crimes you commit you face the consequences of not just the jail time but punishment from whoever it affected.
Chapter 4: special report: Log challengeTraining program (you must be able to do these before even looking at log challenge):
5x aim at random windows in port town and shoot at them from varied distances.
2x touch the ceiling in the port town shop (difficulty 2%)
10x(or until confident) climb to top of tallest building in port town by using the wall (difficulty 5%)
5x go to small pier in port town and aim at the floor 3m from your body. Swing underneath and over the pier (without touching water, and try to land on top of the hook (this technique is used when getting onto logs, but slightly easier)
1x you need to be able to do treehouse challenge- climb tree to get into treehouse (30% difficulty).
1x climb out of volcano - tests how well you can work in dark and recover big drops (35% difficulty).
Think you are ready? Well you need to know the technique now.
-get used to using 3rd person view while swinging if you don’t already, it makes you more aware of surroundings.
-you get MUCH more height from a forwards/backwards pendulum swing than a sideways circle-shaped mace-type swing, but this doesn’t mean you shouldn’t swing sideways at all.
-if you have to shoot in mid-air, do it at the top of your swing when you are not moving so fast.
-stop on as many logs as you can until you are confident enough to go without stopping (highly unrecommended without gold hook or skillz)
-using a shield should reduce fall damage, but don’t forget about stock piling blue potions and vials.
-pendulum swings are best for getting on top of logs.
- While swinging into a log higher than previous (at the height of a swing) grapple on to it and try to get on top of it.
- Try and swing around the outside of the core of the log challenge - it slows you down and hurts you if you bump into it.
-GOOD START PLACE: start by going NWish (I think) of the green start point and up onto the steepest slope around logs. Look around for a low log which is sticking out much more than the others. Position your self and fire at it. Swing around the right side of logs once hooked.
-don’t get excited near the top! It always ends in disaster! Take your time, and don’t be afraid to go back a log if you are in a risking patch. At the 3rd to top log you need to jump and shoot in mid air at log above you.
-it will take time. Don’t ask people to do it for you on their accounts- that defeats the purpose of gold hook, and you will probably quit the game after as you have no more goals. Logs are MEANT to be hard. Don’t give up. It takes the average person about 6-10 days to do it, so don’t think you are naturally bad.
Chapter 5 - gangsGangs are pretty much always criminal gangs, due to the requirement of force to stop police when they get out of hand.

Not much known on these, information wanted.HELP WANTED - this list is not completed but just a start. please tell me other gangs and groups around. I tried to be as unbiased and nice as possible when describing gangs, so please dont be angry or offended by anything as talking about others is a tricky subject. ask me to change anything and i will.
rating gangs (im not going to rate gangs as it will cause public uproar etc., but this is how they vary.)
number of players: 1-3 is small threat, 4-10 is mid sized, 10-20 is big, 20+ is major influence
skill of players: this can affect whether they annoy you by shooting you, or annoy you by killing you
aims: gangs which kill anyone are hated by all. gangs which hate cops are more welcomed but still get their enemies. gangs which kill only people who kill them are approved of by everyone. If you want to make a gang remember these.
style: not required, but if you do things really well people respect you more. (e.g. 3 members all cloak and circle enemy and attack at same time, or you kill someone with a single shot from miles away)
