As long as no one flies over it, it would be fine.

I just really wish there was a way to lock all 3 axises on a particle so it stops acting like a Billboard (stops rotating to look back at you). If I could spawn particles that face a towards a specific direction instead of players then this could work perfectly.

You could use 2d flat shapes with a debris datablock.

This would be a bit complicated and I'm pretty sure it's beyond my scripting capabilities. I can't even get the damn debris to work for me, let alone get bricks to use them.

In other news, I'm working on the water emitters and also some interesting undersea emitters.

Sweet, also I can make you some custom particles anytime you want now.

I'd rather have more fire/fog stoofz instead of 200 lasers..
They fill up the whole emitters selector :(

Still trying to get Debris to work. If I can get the explosion to create a debris, I could easily make an awesome mushroom cloud.

In other news, I just got back from my apartment hunt and I'll start working on these again. I still have a few things to touch up on the water emitters.

the energy screens i mentioned could be easily done with those squares. I think.

Idea: A "lightning" effect that's about as long as the standard laser. (Flickering in different directions but always a continuous line from A to B)

This sounds promising... although I'll still need a straight, linear lightning decal. Lance offered one up but it didn't work.

On a side note, been redirecting effort towards the Nuke, but again debris Annoying Orangeed my efforts so I'll be working on emitters again while I try to figure out what the heck is going wrong. At this point I'm suspecting it has something to do with the debris shape, although I've been using the generic shell debris and still couldn't get it to spawn in an explosion.

Oh well, back to water emitters

Edit: Oh, oh stuff! I got it to work!




I had to hijack the torque Crossbow example script to do it, but it works! Godly mushroom cloud effects here we come!

Also water effects work too, which is nice

Not exactly what I had in mind for a sharp lightning bolt but still a step in the right direction (and it works to boot)



My idea was revolving around the lightning fields you find in the last level of Sonic and Knuckles. This shape is pretty funky though, I might find a use for it in some kind of funk-emitter stuff.

Edit: Behold, the stinky emitter!
