It's not that much work to update addons for v9, you just have to rearrange some folders and update the paths in your script files.

Didn't Badspot say there was large changes in how weapons were made as well?

You don't realize how many add-ons are gone until they're actually gone. Some of the makers of the add-ons, such as the common Duplicator, are not around anymore to update them.

Mind you, I'm actually starting to see this as a bit of a good thing. I've had a few too many /add-ons/add-ons/...

Yes.  Those will basically have to be remade.
