Author Topic: Fired  (Read 3987 times)

So my boss called not 30 minutes ago.  I got fired.  The reason was that "I was not picking up on things fast enough."  I worked at a dairy queen but now I have to find another job.  Hopefully not fast food.  I even said to my parents that I didn't want to work fast food.  So now I have to find another job.  That means putting on my applicatio that I was fired at my first job.  Not very good for me.

You don't have to put on your application (Resume?) that you were fired at your first job.

From what I've seen they ask for previous employers, and a number.  So by way of that it's a good bet that potential employers will find out.

Again, you don't have to give out contact information if you don't want to. It's not like it's the law.

AHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHAHAAH richard.

I'm pretty sure this is Jacobthehero if any of you remember him, which, if it is him, really sucks.

its illegal for an employer to say/ask certain things about your history.
just lie and say you quit lol.

i havent been fired for 5 months =D

I used to chat with the owner of a microplay not that far from my house every once in a while and he said he had hired a 12 year old and didn't know for a month because both the kid and his parents lied about his age. Then he said "Here at microplay we suport child labour!" he was a funny guy but a new microplay opened up close to my house and I haven't gone back to the other one in almost a year...... It's actually better to be fired than quit from what I'd imagine.

Not really.  If I had quit, it would have been my choice.

No, if you say you quit, its better because you left on your own choice. Be sure, if you do quit though, to give your employer some heads up. This is advantageous because that way you can use them as a reference and get some positive support for future jobs.

The student summer jobs are already such a terrible system that I highly doubt this will make more of a mess for you when it comes to getting an actual job. If you enroll in some gay government program then the employers might get picky (and will usually be tremendous pricks) but usually the more desperate jobs won't give a stuff exactly what your history is.

In your Curriculum Vitae, just write your job started mm/yyyy and ended mm/yyyy. That's all anyone wants to know.

There is no law in this country that says you cant lie on a job application about previous jobs.
