Author Topic: Failed to Open Main.cs  (Read 12170 times)

I bought a new laptop, and I downloaded Blockland on  it. When I tried to run Blockland it says "Failed to Open 'Main.cs', Failed to Initialize Game, Shutting Down" I asked some people and they said to reinstall, so I did, THREE times and still it says the same thing, someone please help me!

This happened to me.

You are most likely using a invalid shortcut.  Navigate to C:/Program Files/Blockland and open Blockland.exe that way.

If that doesn't work, ask Badspot :D

Also remember if you're using vista, right click on bl and click 'run as administrator' or follow the more advanced instructions somewhere around here to give access to non administrators.

K I tried Ethan's and it worked, sorta... Now it gets an error saying:
"Blockland.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows. You will need to restart the program.

An error log is being created."

I asked Fooly Cooly, and he said look in the console.log at the very bottom, and I did and there's a bunch of "Could Not Locate texture ____ (Using default textures)" Here it is if anyone wants a look:

It looks like it is a texture called "blank.png" that is crashing Blockland.

I have uploaded my version of Blank.png for you to put in Blockland/base/data/shapes.

After putting that texture where it should go, can you post a console.log again?

Yes'm, sorry for the ten minute wait :O

Error: Could not open file "key.dat" (reading)

Your BL folder seems to be REALLY messed up.

well robo, did you download from the link on front page?

Missing file: base/config/client/config.cs!
Error: Could not open file "key.dat" (reading)
Missing file: base/config/client/prefs.cs!
Missing file: base/config/server/prefs.cs!

Excuseses me, wtf r u doing.

Something forgeted up.

Remove, reinstall, re-enter key.

No edit button :<

Scratch what I said, delete key.dat and try again.

If you delete key.dat, you have to enter your key again.

So make sure you have it written down somewhere.
