Author Topic: Request: BrickCAM  (Read 2105 times)

Today while I was making the roads at my clan base, I noticed something that would really help while building.

When I was making the roads, I was getting tired of laying them out, then jetting all the way over to the end of the bricks I placed, and laying more.

 Why not make a BrickCAM?

Something like....

  • When you click the mouse while you have bricks, the camera switches to hover over the brick.
  • When the ghost brick is moved, the camera follows it, and rotates along with it.

And, at this point, you wont have to follow your bricks anymore.

Hope someone can do it!

This idea seems pretty epic.

Why Not use the Too far script plus F8?

I'm sure its possible-- you could set the camera to orbit around your ghost brick.

Maybe have the camera locked over the brick, zooming in or out depending on the size of the brick and whether you can actually see the brick from the current view. (If there's something in the way, move just inside that, unless your brick is actually inside it)

This would be VERY handy for high builds.

If you were to do that, you STILL would need to build, move. build, move. build, move.

Any news on this? I am wanting it BADLY.

 Lol, I wish I could scrypt. :(

How about, when you push a certain key (like Alt-C) then it turns on the BrickCAM

Hmm... it might be possible.

EDIT: before I look into doing something like it, but when you switch bricks, the BrickCAM would lose it's subject. Would you want it to follow all the bricks you place?

Thats what I am hoping to have. Just so that I know it is possible, and I will be able to use it.

Seems rather useful. I hope someone who's epic at this kind of stuff can make it. :D

The camera should probably follow whatever temp brick you have placed, and snap back to you when you press numpad 0 or die. (Moving to new temp bricks you place)
