Hi! I'm new, and I could need some info

Hi there!

When i first saw this game, i fell in love with it... But unfortunately, it costs like $20 to get it. But i tried to get it anyway, it all ended with me playing "Blockland, The Better Mod" And i loved that aswell! I have played TBM now for, i don't know, 2 weeks, and I have made some really nice stuffs that I can post later on (If that's okey?)

Yesterday I went to blocklands website, and I was THIIIIS close to actually buy blockland, now when V9 is out and everything. But i changed my mind, I had to know more about the game first, so that's why I am here ! I want to know WHY i should buy blockland? What's the difference between Blockland retail and TBM ? Should I download RTB after buying the retail ? tell me everything that i should know !

Retail Blockland has more capabilities now that v9 is out.

With the new Wrench Events, nearly anything is possible. Brick limit is 150k, I think and you could run 30k on a crappier computer with some or very little lag. Building in it is more realistic.

Refer to the gallery for some examples of how some people build.

People play this a lot too, unlike TBM. It also has higher quality models, animations, particles and maps. There's lights, emitters (think: fountains), items and events, all of which (except lights) can be wrenched into any brick at any side facing any direction. There is water bricks now too, and building is only half the fun. The other half is blowing it up with rocket launchers (it respawns, dont worry). You don't have to, and noone will without you knowing.

well i'm really in to this light effect thingy that retail has. TBM is, as said, very dull and boring.. A dark basement in TBM is just as bright as anything >_< I'm still not convinced to buy the retail tho =/

Is it safe to pay with your credit card @ the website? I live in Sweden, were we have SEK instead of USD, so $20 is ~126 SEK. But i guess it doesn't matter :P There's no extra payments after the $20 right?

one question... Is the retail version more lag-free than the TBM version? cuz i'm lagging like hell after a couple of 100 bricks :S And my PC isn't even that bad!
And can anyone answer me WHY oh WHY the characters are so frikkin ugly in the retail xD They don't even look like lego characters !

They don't look like LEGO characters because he makes money of the game. They'd sue Badspot.

It lags way less than TBM, you can download the demo and check it out.

Yes, it is safe to pay via a credit card, I paid with euros myself, there's no extra payments.

Your gallery topic does go against the rules which state that you can only post Blockland Retail builds/add-ons etc... in their respective sections. Retail is a one time payment of $20 which as you mentioned is round about 126 SEK. Retail has much better ways of handling bricks than the alpha version so you can have more bricks with less lag if you fit the hardware requirements. You will find that the Blockland community is a lot more, well, existent than that of TBM.

thx to all replys =)  I'm starting to get more and more interested with the retail version of Blockland. It's very good to hear that I can build stuffs with less lag, beacuse almost everything i've build in TBM lags like F. And I wont post anymore pictures / creating any more topics about TBM in the retail forum =P

Filled with questions, as I am, I have a few more. :P

1. How long does it take for me, before I can play V9, after my payment is done ?
2. Should I play blockland V9 alone, or should I download any mod, like RTB ?
3. Would you buy Blockland now? Or would you wait for any updates or anything else? (I know that V9 came out 8/8, that's why i'm getting interested in buying it  )

1. If you pay through Paypal, not long at all.
2. Blockland (just by itself) works great as a full on game. There aren't any mods like TBM out anyways.
3. Get it now, the auto-updates are free.

Trust me BL rocks there is so much to do, add ons are now easier to save, you get wrench events, and there are cool minigames like zombie battles or team deathmatches.

wow it looks great! I'll download this for sure if I buy the retail =) When is the release date for 2.0 ?

I think i'm gonna buy it, it seems like a good idea...  haha, I hope i am :D
