HELP!blockland version question

i have V9 but one of my friends cant get V9 working on there computer and they only have V8 can i go on their server with V9 even though their V8 or do i need V8?if i need V8 how do i download V8 i cant with its download link and when i try getting the download link for V8 off other online game advertising sites it only installs V9...
