580fps weirdly the same at:
 1600x900 windowed
 800x600 windowed
 and
 1920x1200 fullscreen

it's a GeForce 8800 GTS 320MB with a Athlon64 X2 6000+ and 2GB DDR2 Dual Channel memory....

That was at 800x600.  At 1680x1050 windowed I only get about 750 in that scene. 

Yeah, thats what I thought. Shouldn't be too challenging to get 1000 FPS at such a low resolution.

Its possible that you were getting higher than 999 frames per second, but FRAPS will only go as high as 1000.

If only the true issue were about graphics. The real problem is that people have really poor internet connections.
