No. Gifting is when you have an EXTRA copy of one game. So lets say i bought HL2 in 2005 and then i buy Orange box later. I have TWO half life 2's. So basically you get to give it as a gift. Also, you can buy games as a gift on steam.

Or when you buy Portal because you aren't interested in Half Life at the moment, and later come to really want it, so you get Orange Box and you gift somebody the extra Portal.

And the original can run on a stuffty computer while HLS can't. Even though HLS has stuffty graphics 'cause it's only a port, you need a good computer 'cause it has the physics and effects.
