CoD isn't (I don't think?), and they aren't installed, and I don't have the GCF files of them on my computer. It wouldn't matter anyway, because gmod runs on the new engine, of which I have no games that run on.

You don't need anything else but Gmod and Steam.

Gmod now has the engine included with it (the source 2007.gcf in your steamapps folder) thus meaning you don't need HL2. The only reason you needed one of those games is to get the engine. Gmod automatically includes HL2 props even if you don't have the game. So you also don't need it for the props too.
And I am betting you could just wait for when they do a "free weekend" thing for css or tf2(which was just happening earlier) which then it will download the gcf files (pre-load) and thus as long as you don't get rid of that GCF file, you will have the props from the game.

one time i de-isntalled all of my games, reinstalled garrys mod and it still worked without portal being intalled, so even though i know that gmod includes the engine, that picture proves nothing.

Because it works without a steam game being installed. What the forget.
Plus, you had the gcf files in your folder, obviously, considering you "de"installed it. Yea, that picture along with me stating that there are no gcf files proves everything.
