1. Get a hobby
2. Spend your money on that hobby

Problem solved.

If I had that kinda cash, I would spend it on a new snowboard, or upgrade my computer. Or save up for something bigger.

Build a sweet gaming rig. :3

Put in bank.

Put it into a fixed 10 year CD to earn moar interest! :3  Or perhaps a tax-free IRA?

Holy stuff, I wish I got that much money for my birthday, I normally only get near $200.

For use other than bills, gas, college, and/or food, it really is.

You know, "bills" covers pretty much everything. Rent, electricity, water, anything that requires monthly pay (subscriptions, renting hardware, renting cars, paying monthly for something you bought online). So once you eliminate all those, sure, I guess it is a lot compared to a piece of bubblegum, but not compared to life. Of course, computer hardware doesn't fall into your exclusion list, nor does a (decent) television, game console, anything related to home theater or home appliances, many electronics, the list goes on. In the end, no, it is not a lot of money.
