So it came out today, i got it early in the morning, i think i'm about half way through already.
Anyways the PROS and CONS.
For any of you that have played the first Mercenaries you're pretty much in for the same treat just with better graphics and... you can swim and drive boats now. Yay.
There's also a grapple hook which is useful and button combination now for hi-jacking vehicles. There's a few recruits - Mechanic - Helicopter Pilot - Jet Pilot.
You find all three early on each do something special such as droping bombs for the Jet Pilot. (I suggest you get all three first before doing the main quest - or anything for that matter).
So in a mix up, the gameplay is exactly the same with better graphics.
CONS!
Ok the game has more CONS than PROS because well.... they didnt do a whole lot different from the first one which is really what disapointed everyone.
They changed the PDA system, you can no longer buy "Products" directly from you're PDA. You actualy have to go to a shop and buy them ahead of time then open you're PDA system and use them. Ya it's a total ass and a pain because you constantly have to go to outpost and buy stuff.
Fuel, Fuel is a pain in the ass, anything you order or use like missiles and ordering vehicles cost Fuel, this goes down rapidly and you have to steal fuel from some heavily guarded ass base. For example - Let's say you want a tank delivered it cost 300 Fuel. (Using vehicles does not make you're fuel go down at all)
AI, the AI is brain dead, 10x worse than the first one. They constantly talk while they're in a car with you repeating quote "Hey" "Hey" "Hey Merc" "Welcome Back Merc" "Hey" "Hey". Deadly annoying and beyond useless, they stand beside the vehicle when you get out and get blown up after anyways.
Helicopters, helicopters vary alot more in this game now. Theres Attack Helicopters - Anti Tank Helicopters - Transport Helicopters (useless) - Heavy Attack Helicopters. In the end the only one you're going to ever use is the Venezuela one the Anaconda because it's like a 3 in one destruction bomb. (This isn't exactly bad, it's just annoying because theres about 10 Transport types and only 4 Offensive helicopters)
Objectives, Objectives aren't that bad in this... gets abit boring after awhile, it mainly consist of capture this outpost for so and so and piss this guy off. Or go get this vehicle and come back while dodging 100 helicopters.
Glitches, aw ya this game has loads.... to sum it up the most common are you ordering something and it doesnt always come, you lose you're vehicle and fuel and you're cash is wasted of course. Cover system sucks.. bullets fly through sandbags and rocks even. Random floating objects and certain enemies running into stuff etc.
The worst of all, THE GAME IS TO EASY. It's beyond easy, and you can't set the difficulty. If you play as Mathias you get faster HP regeneration which makes it even easier. But if you get to 7 HP you become invincible for about 5-7 seconds which gives you time to run away or kill off whatever you're fighting (What the hell where they thinking).
In all it's definetly fun, i really like it. If you haven't played the first one then you wont be disappointed but if you have prepare to feel like Mercs 1 all over again.
