Ok, it is kinda boring to look at datablocks loading and a picture of the map, right? How about look at what people who have already loaded are seeing?

If you didn't have the map fully downloaded or some of the add-ons it would probably crash your game if someone was using them infront of you...

It might not be a bad idea have something playing or something interesting to look at while add-ons are downloading.

Edit: I don't think it would be possible to have a movie, but you could just change the "Unknown Map" to a picture of a puzzle or optical illusion, and you're entertained whilst Amiga Soundpack is downloading.

The whole point of loading is the fact that your computer doesn't yet know what the players are seeing, so this is impossible.  Zor did make a tertis game that is played with a gui, that might be fun if ported.  Also, theres always reading the forum or something while loading, thats what I do.

What about the people that don't have good enough computers to task switch, at least out of programs like Blockland?

I run BL in windowed mode anyway, so I just click on the firefox window open in the background.

I hate blockland windowed for some reason.. I learned to suck it up and have patients.
