Author Topic: Bones needs some ideas. (He gots him a gig.)  (Read 4260 times)

On September 20, A friend of mine and myself will be performing at our homecoming rally. We will be on stage in front of a thousand or so people. We currently have four cover songs worked out and the current time comes to around twenty minutes. The problem lies in our play time. We have to be up there for forty-five minutes. Basically, we have to perfect four songs and learn five new ones in fifteen days.

Our current songs include:
-Stairway to Heaven (Led Zeppelin. Minus a solo, we'll be playing acoustics)
-Signature of Divine (Needtobreathe. Acoustic arangement)
-Shine on (Needtobreathe. Acoustic arrangement)
-Who I Am Hates Who I've Been (Relient K. Acoustic arrangement)

I did not include a link to Stairway to Heaven because everyone should know it and we're simply playing the studio version acoustic.

If you have any ideas for good acoustic songs, please, post here. We don't have much time.

are you guys acoustic only?

you could do

creep - radiohead
FREE BIRD!!!!! - you know who its by
ziggy stardust - david bowie
OR
shooting star - bad company
(it would be redundant to play them in the same night)
wish you were here - pink floyd
plush - stone temple pilots (has an awesome acoustic version)
over the hills and far away - led zep
polly- nirvana
my sharona - the knack (would be tricky to make acoustic, but would be win)
25 or 6 to 4 - chicago (same thing)
michelle - the beatles
yesterday - the beatles
eleanor rigby - beatles (same problem)
sunshine of your love - cream
space oddity - david bowie
are you gonna be my girl - jet (it can be done)
more than a feeling - boston
every rose has its thorn - posion

or you do dark side of the moon, the album runs like 40 minutes

ill edit tomorrow after school when i think of some more

One by Metallica, maybe? Minus the solo, of course.

Through The Fire and Flames.
I dare you.

Serious: Still Alive?  :cookieMonster:

It's just not one without the solo..

Also, if you're doing acoustic songs: The running free acoustic.

If not just acoustic.. do the running free still  :cookieMonster:

loving acoustic, idiot, also, We Will Rock You is not an acoustic song at all, it has almost no guitar!

Iron Man

 We will Rock You

Negatory. It would butcher the songs to play them without tone rich distortion. I would feel worse about Queen though. I have much more respect for Brian May than I do for Tony Iommi.

Somebody to love doesn't have much distortion nor does Don't Stop Me Now and a few others.

Like TapeDeck said, do free bird. It is simple and takes up a good 10 minutes
And people love it.
