Author Topic: Bye-bye 246MB RAM! Hello 1 GB!  (Read 2640 times)

Me and my father have identified the DDR/Number of PINs and the make of RAM (We had to open the PC up, messy but hey, atleast i can play spore half as good as Tails!) , Now we are going to buy the new stick of 1GB RAM, I can't wait :D

There are simpler ways to have done that, but whatever :cookieMonster:

My PC Is old, and there were wires in the way and it was hard to see it's tag without getting static :(

I had to, my computer isn't brand new, it was a budget custom computer which was a windows 98.

All you needed to know was the motherboard model.

He would have to open it up to put the 1 gig stick in anyway.

RAM is one of the few things you can upgrade on most prebuilts.

Newer graphics cards, CPUs and such typically require a proper motherboard and a large case with a more sufficient power supply.

RAM is also alot cheaper.

Why did you quote my post :(

Why did you quote my post :(

I always try to quote the post I am replying to. It means if someone gets a post in before me, or if there is any doubt, people will know to whom I am responding.

But it had nothing to do with mine :(
I was stating the importance of pc parts, As told by one of my gods.

It was completely to do with that you said.

I was pointing out that while you should update your GPU and CPU, often times RAM is the easiest upgrade to make and hence it "wins" out over other more serious upgrades.
