Well, it's been a couple of weeks since we updated the blog, and we thought it was time to let you know why we've been so quiet. The last couple of weeks we've actually been moonlighting on Left 4 Dead. While the L4D team has been focusing on finishing up the core cooperative gameplay, we've been helping them by working on their Versus mode. Versus is the recently-announced competitive mode where one team plays the Survivors and one team plays the Infected. We've learned a lot while working on TF2 in the last year, and we were able to apply some of those lessons to Versus mode. As a result, we've just finished adding critical hits, respawn waves, flawless auto-team balancing, and facestabs to L4D, while removing anything that looked remotely like a grenade.
I kid, I kid.



Now that we're wrapping up that work, we'll be returning to TF2. We've got a bunch of exciting changes coming down the pipe for the next class update. Feels good to be home again!

The fake spy update image has been around for months. Since before the pyro update I believe.

I was looking around on Facepunch for the PHX3 models for Gmod when I saw it.

The thing that makes those so obvious as fakes is the fact that there are real guns.

Another reason it is obviously fkae is cause A: it says fake in the title and B: every one knows the replacment revolver will be the tranq gun.

Not really. It has never been confirmed.
 In fact, I would hope valve would be more creative than that.

They all ready have the model for it (watch the two original trailers) so why not? The scout will also probably get a nail gun and the demoman a dynamite pack (check trailers for both). But I would hope they decied not to give the scout the nail gun because it would be to much like the medics needler, the tranq's effect is to much like Natashas, but the dynamite pack looks fun (but if it replaces the sticky's it would suck).

If they did, VALVe would be too lazy to be VALVe, they need to use new models, not old beta ones.

The recent update weapons have been pretty crappy too. The effects are good enough I just can't bear the look of them.
Valve needs the guy who did the Medic's stuff back.

The medic use to have a syringe in the beta, you don't see them giving him it in his update.
