the mine cart would be a veichle and it would have its own bricks that have rails on em.
the rails would also make the cart stick somehow
here are the track bricks:

Jump
up/down
turn left/right
trackswitch
broken track
track end/start
loop

from what I've heard rails would be either impossible or really hard to do.

It's not impossible but extremly hard with torque.
