Forum "Gold Members".

Now, if you've ever been to Facepunch, you'll notice Gold Members. Basically, these are older and more respected members. Basically, they have the same rights as everyone else, with the exception of an exclusive Subforum, Golden Name and a bit of a larger image. I suggest something like this, for OUR older, respected, and loyal members. Trader, Space Guy, Kaje, Wedge, Ephi, Illidan, Myself, Packer, Bisjac, Tails, SolarFlare, Spation, VH, etc.

Horrible idea. Sounds OK, but if there's a forum for gold members only, then the idiots will think if they get a high post count they will be resepected, and then we will have a forum full of Xgen Dudes.

Its what you do that defines what you are. I once banned a 1k ID for being a noob. Met a 6k ID that can mod other games. Its still a bad idea calling yourself "Gold Member".

It would be hard to single out the members, seeing as noobs would get pissy, and people that think they should go on the members list will get pissy if they don't. I mean, I could go down the members list and get ALL of the people that I think and find to be respectable members of the community, but I'm sure noobs would band together and select their friends then someone would have to read EVERY SINGE REQUEST, would would be about 100 per day. Not something I'd₁ enjoy doing If I was busy trying to satisfy a whole 8k community with only one other moderator that isn't on very often. (That I can see)

It's a fancy idea, but a pain in the ass to keep going and controlling the rest of the idiots. There is also the fact that this idea would be complete opnion from about EVERY member of the forums, witch wouldn't do.

EDIT: it would definitely not go by post count.

The only way would I want to see this is buying it, I could careless if the mentally challenged buy it and act elitist, atleast badspot has 5,10,20 more dollars to help support blockland and himself.

The only downside I could think of is if we get somelikes Facepunch's Monkey123, and gets badspot's paypal, or whatever he uses banned.

I've seen rep systems work well, where people will give posts and members that they like reputation points. The higher your rep, the higher your rank?
