Also, if it is a public school, I bet that the school is just ripping students off their money anyway. Seriously, my school's homecoming tickets are $10, and at least half the school ends up going, resulting in $10000+. The teachers (if they even get payed for standing and watching around the barely decorated gym) cost $1000 at most, and I doubt that the DJ, and cardboard cutouts cost $9000+. In-fact, the rule with dances is that 200+ (I think, or it may be 400) students have to attend, so I'm assuming that is it all profit from there, if not before. Heck, my school even changed $1 for a can of pop.

Holy stuff, somebody actually gave good advice.
And a real reason not to go.

If you ever at all want to get serious into a relationship, your going to have to work to wedge yourself into it. For you, that's going to the loving dance. So what if you hate it, you have a better chance of scoring.

That's all that matters. Every single relationship in history has had both female and male have to put out for something. For females, it's love. For you, it's cuddle time. You may not like it, but you have to in order to get to love.

FrAg, your options are:

1. Go to the dance and dance.
2. Say you aren't interested in dances, but would rather do something else date-ish-ly. (I haven't been on a date before, so I don't know. I just know how to get out of things.)

As far as I know, it's when the alumni would come to watch the football game, though it has evolved into a full blown school event that has little real care about the original event.

Sounds pointless.

Try to convince her to out to a nice restaurant with you instead. If you can't convince her, drop it and go to the event.

The worst thing you can do is simply say "I don't want to go to that stuffty event" and then not do anything afterwards. She'll interpret that as disinterest in her, you don't want that.
