Author Topic: Chicks and vegetarianism  (Read 15560 times)

My brother is a vegetarian and I'm fine with it because he isn't a richard about it.
Speaking of which, I dated a vegetarian once, and never again shall it happen.
Bitch wouldn't let me eat my GODDAMN STEAK     RRAAGGEE
If I was ever on a date where she did something like that, I'd just walk out and leave without her. Seriously.

Due to evolution and natural selection corn fed cows will not be able to eat anything else eventually. :cookieMonster:

I hope you've supplemented your diet with the nutrients you've lost from not eating meats. Hopefully from alternative foods and not pills. I remember seeing some study that said the majority of vegetarians suffered a reduction in brain size and power because they weren't getting nutrients from meat. They just stopped eating meat without supplementing their diet. Those people are loving stupid.
I have also heard vegetarians usually live longer than carnivores. But I only heard that.

As much as I don't want to, I eat fish sometimes. My mom says it's seafood, not meat.. and I kinda agree.
My only problem with it, is the lack of taste, and horrible texture. I like fresh fish the most...

Fish is a solid choice. I was gonna say something bad, but then I remembered you said you don't eat animals because you don't like them; not because you are objectionable to them being killed.

Fish is extremely lean and turbo-loaded with proteins. I think most fish has a good taste and I like how fish meat breaks off in segments.

Fish is meat, just like eggs are meat, just like chicken, lamb, cow, turkey, opossum, alligator, cats and dogs. Trying to excuse an animal because of it's location as an excuse to get meat in your life and not feel guilty about it is hypocritical. If it is born, it is an animal. If it is planted, it's a plant. No grey areas what so ever.

Yes, you may love lil sparky, but if you were trapped in a cabin that was snowed in and you're only hope of survival until rescue came was to eat the critter, I'm sure you'd get over it eventually. A "final sacrifice" of a faithful and truly loyal pet. (waits for rage)

Also, I have a vegan friend. She's only partly vegan, no red meats, so no beef basically, but she'll chow on her chicken with no remorse. Why, I'll never ask her. I just accept it and we've been fine.

Me: Why do we have to go there! I Hate all the food there.
Sister; I can't eat anything anywhere else!
Me: Why?
Sister: Becosue it has meat!

You can eat meat D:<. You just don't want to. Just as I don't want to eat mexican crap.

I don't eat chicken because I grew up with them. They are awesome.
I understand that, sure the location is different and stuff doesn't make it different. I mean, still the taste is not for me. I try to eat it, but it's hard when very little of it tastes good to me.

I was going to say this but he doesn't eat meat because he doesn't like most of it. Not because he is against the animal killing.

*edit* Azerath post jacked me D:

Muahaha.

Also, if I had to eat my pet, I probably wouldn't, because I love them. I don't want to get sick anyways. But, of course, others may because they will starve, like I would.

Yeah, that much I got. It's a similar condition to one I have where I am unable to eat any form of Pork. It makes me rather ill. Had a corndog and I was either in bed or on the toilet for the next three days. Just touching the stuff caused my skin to burn and peel as if I had just dipped them in acid.

It's hard to say you wouldn't eat them when you aren't in that situation.

Aye, your right. I may want to, but it seems so sick of me to even think about it.

I have eczema on the back of my hands, so my skin is already like that. :D

If only I could use that as an excuse myself. :( I don't have it, but when pork comes into play, it just tears my hands to shreds. Almost lost two growth cuticles from the last case I had....I worked at subway at the time. Those gloves don't protect against stuff btw. lol

A 'perfect' person (doesn't smoke or anything) on the best meat diet (that of which still includes vegtables and such in their food) would like longer than a 'perfect' person on the best vegetarian diet.
It only makes sense that way because you are at a loss of nutrients where the meat eater can get them all.

What the studies do, is they simply take certain groups of people from different regions that have different diets and measure their mortality rate, which is a terrible argument as to who would live longer. According to those studies, "The results of the collaborative brown townysis suggest that vegetarians may have a lower overall mortality than comparable non-vegetarians (by about 5%), perhaps enough to confer a slightly greater life expectancy."
I may be stereotyping, but "meat eaters" usually tend to smoke and do more drugs than a vegetarian, or simply may be making bad food choices or eating too much meat. For all we know their results may have been flawed by 5% due to that factor.

All I'm trying to say is, the logical approach would suggest that if both people were in a controlled experiment where they were to be identical and simply on different diets, logically the meat eater would live longer.

As a kid I thought being a vegetarian was some thing you caught or a "special way of life" like mental handicaps.

I'm vegetarian.. Whats wrong with that?
