Precise painting with jets is difficult.
Paintball gun, only if its a tool.

A long-range paintgun isn't even that hard to make

EDIT: the spray can actually is really complex, as far as I can tell. Ignore the statement above this.

Im thinking a smoke grenade should be quite easy, all you have to do is make a model then when you throw the ball it emmits a fog/smoke projetile.
