Author Topic: Somone in my school died last night.  (Read 17661 times)

I just read the last 7 pages of this.

At first in my view, Otis was saying his point correctly, but then the others went batstuff crazy and Otis was loling at them by talking about time of post and things.
Then I almost clapped when Otis just said his point and thoughts without doing "TIME OF POST" "YOU LOSELOELOEL" things. I don't see anything wrong with Otis's values/thoughts/morality/whatever you want to call it. I've had both my grandfathers die, both I was close to, but when they died, I was like "K, another day, another thousand of people(made-up number) dead across the world."

Also I thought of Nick as a handicap from his first post into the discussion/debate/argument of Otis and Vert and Bones. Nick, please read and stop proving yourself to be an idiot.
The whole point was not that he didnt care, but that he had to post about how he didnt care and how he made jokes about it.

Qft

You can not read, and saying something like "Maybe you will understand that in a few years." is insulting. I'm not getting worked up over people dying, only Otis's reaction to it. I seriously doubt you have read all of this thread.

It's obvious by where the thread is now that they do not fully understand that.

Why is it your job to interpret things like this for them? What I pointed out was my brown townysis, it was directed at the people who post "I HAT OTIS CUZ I TINK HE MEEN!!1". I don't quite understand you and I'm quite certain I don't ever want to.

i only read the first page because the rest would probably piss me off and i'd probably end up joining the argument and practically writing an essay

but bones is right here

Not caring about the situation is one thing. Making fun of it is another.

there's no need for that

that's just lame

Apathy is what creates horrible people. Wrap your minds around that.

Apathy is what creates horrible people. Wrap your minds around that.

aren't you one of the apathetics in this argument

do you mean empathy

i'm not following

I'm not an apathetic. My point was that you shouldn't get all worked over a death of someone, whether you know them or not. Empathy does fit in that.

Note: I didn't say anything about stomping on someone's emotions with cruel intent, horrid example:  "LOL U DOG DIED, SUCK IT" = not acceptable.

Which is where sympathy comes into play.

I didn't say anything about stomping on someone's emotions with cruel intent, horrid example:  "LOL U DOG DIED, SUCK IT" = not acceptable.
And this is almost exactly what Otis was doing, simply in a more subtle manner.

Assuming you're still talking to me, you still dont loving read, do you?

I didn't know him

just because you don't understand how someone can feel bad for the death of people they don't know doesn't mean you should piss all over them, otis

I didn't know anyone who died in 9-11 or the holocaust, but I still feel horrible for the victims.

I met a halocaust survivor.

I didn't know anyone who died in 9-11 or the holocaust, but I still feel horrible for the victims.

Same here, I don't know the people in Iraq but they are giving their lives to save us and if they die I feel sad for them and their families.

Sometimes I wish I'd die because no one really seems to care about me,But then again my life will probably get better...

Assuming you're still talking to me, you still dont loving read, do you?
I don't read what? The wtl;dr topic with scattering of relevent issues?

Obviously someone would have said points I argued, whatever. This thread is blown clear out of proportion.
