Computer Virus, u has dem!?!!?

I just got a computer virus. Yay me.

I got rid of it through system restore.

My question to you is; have you ever had a computer virus? How severe was it? Did it take a while to get rid of?

EDIT: I now have about 7 virus scans set up, daily. :]

I got a virus, killed it, got 3 trojans after that, killed those, and ended up reformatting in January.

I got a virus, Anitvirus 2008, it was a cookie, yeah a scam. It should be called Virus 2008...

I've had them millions of times, and in ways that I've never expected them.

I follow in this order:
1. System restore
2. Install trial Kaspersky and disinfect/remove
3. Reformat

Sorry, OS X != Windows.  Also, right now, my brother has a BAD one, he can't use his computer anymore, we're trying to get Dell's stuffty support.

There's like 3 Unix viruses, and they all have to be executed manually.

I got a virus three years ago because I was an idiot and downloaded a serial crack.

"I wunder y my cereal key 4 vegas is an .exe... o well, bettr run it"

I've more or less gotten rid of the perverse side affects at this point.

The virus I had was something like that, but when I clicked "exit"

(anti-virus went NUTS!!)

it said "quit installation to lovevid?"

WTF?

I've had maybe 1 or 2 viruses.  I am quite sure that I'm not responisble for them, but rather every other idiot in my family that doesn't know that Viruses actually exist and link every loving ad they se in every site they go to.

I once had 320,311 viruses underneith my nose. Data was being deleted on all my users on my computer, it actually took me a year until I could kill the virus. I stunted it with giga-long notepad files. The viruses were all deadly severe.

Once, while I was grounded from the computer, my brother used my computer to test it for a WoW Trainer. Apparently, it DID have a virus, and he though he got rid of it.

The day I got ungrounded: I turned on my computer, and I see a whole loving stuffload of popups on my computer. System restore is disabled. Just about everything that can stop the virus was disabled, even the internet.
I ended up getting Panda Platinum Plus, but the pop-up blocker always minimized my games when it blocked something, so I just reformatted.

I got a virus that made a pop-up of research come up every 1-2 minutes. Then I spilt apple cider on it about 30 minutes afterwords.

It's in the shop now. :/

I don't get viruses because I have other people test programs for me... (Seriously, I had a friend download and run a program to see if it worked. It tried to break his whole computer olol.)

Well, if you count the things I purposefully download that I use all the time but my virus software thinks is a virus, I've gotten like. 2. ... Multiple times. .-.
