Author Topic: Would you classify Blockland as an MMORPG?  (Read 5322 times)

It's not an RPG, so no.

Its a Sandbox game. You can make it into a MMORPG with a add_on.

I think that it could be anything, and MMORPG is in the range of anything so... -.-

MMORPG stands for MASSIVELY MULTIPLATER Online RPG. Blockland is far from being massively multiplayer, seeing how most servers have under 20 people in them. It is also not an RPG, as everyone else said.

You just had to go and make a topic about this..

Blockland certainly does not fall under the MMORPG category. First of all, it's a sandbox game, yes it includes roleplaying, but it's still a sandbox game, that's what it was intended to be, just like Gmod.
Second of all, it's not massive in any way shape or form. The maximum I've ever seen in a server was around 40 people, massive multiplayer games usually are able to hold over 500 people in one server. In theory that is possible in Blockland, but I still wouldn't consider it massive.

It's a free-form game, meaning it can represent anything that a player wants it to by building and/or making add-ons.

No, I classify it as a sandbox game.

Nope, it is a sandbox type of game. It's not those stuffty type of free mmos.

Some of them are good, and some of the ones that cost money suck.

*cough*Nexon*cough*. It's just that most of them have the same battle system.

Nexon games don't cost money.
I'm talking about World of Warcraft.
But yes, most of them are pretty well duplicates with different looks, skills, and quest names.
